IP Addresses Changing to UK-registered blockposted by InfoDesk BeyonDSL on 05 August 2010We are in the process of migrating all our IP addresses to a new UK-registered block. Most customers will not notice any change except that sites which use your location should now be more accurate. The move starts 5th Aug and should finish 9th Aug. If you have a connection or application which needs a fixed IP, you will need to update this with your new IP address. For most of our customers you probably won't notice any changes. Some UK-specific websites should now correctly identify you as being located with a UK ISP eg BBC iPlayer. Please be careful: video usage can use up a great deal of data very quickly. You should monitor your usage on your "My Account" dashboard carefully to make sure you are not consuming so much data as to affect your speedstep. If you are going to download a lot of video or audio or other large files such as software or Windows updates, you may like to consider adding FreeZone to your account if it doesn’t already have it (you can check this by looking at your “My Account” dashboard) and using a download manager. To learn more read our FreeZone FAQ and read our guide to using a download manager with FreeZone. |
