Signal Check - Az/El and Skew Figures

posted by InfoDesk BeyonDSL on 25 February 2011

If you need to point or re-point the dish because your signal levels need improving or if you need to adjust the skew because your Xpol test has failed, here's how to find the Azimuth, Elevation and Skew figures for your particular location.

These figures are given in the Antenna Pointing Information leaflet which came with your ASTRA2Connect kit.

You can download this as a pdf here.

For precise figures, please visit www.dishpointer.com, select 23.5E ASTRA3A ASTRA3B from the Satellites menu.and enter your location then click the Go! button.

Note down the figures this gives you for Azimuth, Elevation and LNB Skew. Ignore the minus sign "-" that Dishpointer gives for skew. EG if the figure is "-10.2", set the iLNB scale to 10.

These figures should be used as illustrated on the Az, El and Skew explanation page. For detailed installation alignment instructions and links to videos, please go to the Self-Installation Guide.
