All recent satmodems (NTC/2252) can be upgraded with new firmware downloaded automatically from the new ACM hub which is available on both 28.2°E and 23.5°E. NTC/2252 can continue to be used with the CCM hub services on 23.5°E .
Once upgraded with ACM firmware, the NTC/2252 can’t be changed back to CCM: it’s a one-way operation. If you wish to install the Quad LNB TV option, you can only install on 23.5°E and use the "Broadband (TV option)" packages. If you want to use the "Broadband" packages, you can not install the Quad LNB TV option.
The earlier type of satmodem (NTC/2250) can only be used with CCM hub (eg on 23.5°E) and not on any ACM hub. The NTC/2250 can't be used for any future Ka services.

To change an early (TP200 (NTC/1070)) system from 23.5°E CCM to 28.2°E or 23.5°E ACM:
- keep the dish and iLNB
- replace the satmodem with an NTC/2252 - for ACM on 23.5°E, that's it.
- for ACM on 28.2°E, repoint the dish and reskew the iLNB
To change a current (TP210 (NTC/1072)) system from 23.5°E CCM to 28.2°E or 23.5°E ACM:
- keep the dish and iLNB,
- if moving from 23.5°E to 28.2°E, repoint the dish and reskew the iLNB
- the NTC/2252 satmodem will download new firmware automatically
- once the new firmware for ACM is installed, can't be used for CCM

Recent Equipment Sets are compatible with either Ku-band or Ka-band depending on the iLNB used. The recent NTC/2542.AE dish set is Ka-band compatible so can be used for current Ku-band services and the Ka-band services planned for 28.2°E. To upgrade this to Ka, you will need to change the iLNB to a Ka-type and fine repointing may be needed since error margins are smaller for Ka than for Ku.
