BeyonDSL and NextGenUs have teamed up to provide broadband access for the Penrith and the Border Broadband Conference at the Rheged Centre, Cumbria on Saturday 18th September 2010.

When the conference centre realised the need for extra broadband connectivity to cope with hundreds of delegates discussing broadband for Cumbrian communities, they turned to the expertise of NextGenUs and BeyonDSL's ASTRA2Connect satellite broadband service.

Guy Jarvis, Managing Director of NextGenUs UK CIC said: "We were delighted to be able to step up at short notice together with BeyonDSL to enable a broadband connection at the Rheged Centre for Rory Stewart MP's conference, as this is a great demonstration of what can be achieved when everyone works together to solve the broadband Notspot problem"

Michael Locke, MD of BeyonDSL commented "we are very pleased to support Rory Stewart MP's conference by supplying our satellite broadband service. Rural communities all over Cumbria and the rest of the UK are connecting up to our service and finding out, like the conference, that satellite is quick, easy and inexpensive for broadband provision wherever it is needed."

'I am delighted that BeyonDSL Satellite Broadband and NextGenUs Community Broadband have installed a strong wireless connection at Rheged, this will make a great difference to the delegates and to the success of the event as a whole and we are very grateful." said Alice Unwin, Projects Manager & Conference Organiser.

The wi-fi installation for the conference is provided and managed by NextGenUs; the installer of the satellite service is local Cumbrian business, JDN Systems of Lazenby www jdnsystems.co.uk 01768 870090.

The provision of wi-fi & satellite broadband to the Penrith & the Border Broadband Conference by BeyonDSL and NextGenUs underlines the ability of mixed-technology systems to bring broadband to rural communities quickly and cost-effectively. Any community or single home or business can have access to the same broadband connectivity right now from BeyonDSL and NextGenUs.
